Project Introduction
PaShipPa is the world’s first “first to last mile” connected fulfillment platform for the perishable industry on the movement of perishable goods across international borders. The platform provides full supply chain visibility, tracking and temperature monitoring, optical pesticide/pathogen detectors, next generation QR codes for data access and counterfeit prevention and blockchain for traceability and data encryption.
The PaShipPa platform is a complete fulfillment solution; block chain is used to encrypt all data as the perishables move through the global supply chain as well as provide smart contracts and traceability. We use a license free LoRa protocol with low power sensors and gateway to monitor the product temperature in real time throughout the supply chain.
Innovation:PaShipPa integrates solutions to support stakeholders across the supply chain. Farmers can use sensors integrated at their farm to collect moisture, seed and nutrient data and collect pesticide readings before produce enters the supply chain. Freshness readings are collected through the movement for real-time monitoring, while historical data is collected to replicate optimal growing conditions. Retailers and consumers can utilize the platform’s blockchain technology and next generation QR code to access product information.
Our software provides for ease of use and include a platform for sourcing perishables, single transaction purchasing, shared cost for documentation, USDA inspection, FSIS documentation, FSMA compliance, consolidation, fixed currency payment system, temperature monitoring, transportation, custom clearance and last mile delivery. We are the “UBER” for perishable fulfillment as all the buyer needs to do is go onto our marketplace and choose from thousands of products and expect delivery within 48hours from processing.
All stakeholders will jump onto the platform onto their dashboard and manage their respective responsibilities as it relates to their participation in the supply chain with all the cost being shared by the stakeholders. The Farmer will upload the packing list, certificates (organic etc.,) commercial invoice, bill of lading and inspection report, our LoRa sensors at the farm will document and encrypt all data on the growing conditions. Product will be tracked to the airport as stakeholders monitor the movement and temperature. Our delivery optimization algorithm will provide the best route for the driver as they pick up additional products from other farms.
Our consolidator will have an LD3 Air Container from a commercial airline available at their TSA approved facility for consolidation and USDA inspection for final uploading of the Bills of Lading and export documentation. Our software will data mine the FSIS library to determine if there are any current restrictions for export to China, documents required, and tariffs that must be paid.
Products are harvested and or processed early in the morning and delivered to the consolidator before 10am, USDA inspector will sign off on export docs and product is moved to the airline by early afternoon. Perishable products are shipped that same afternoon to await custom clearance and last mile delivery, products are consolidated after arrival into our smart containers and are delivered to the customer. LoRa devices will handover to the local LoRa frequency in China and continue to relay the product data and location. Smart containers are tamper proof and only authorized persons can open and close the containers and they can hold a fixed temperature for 72 hours.
Economic and Social Impact
Economic Impact:PaShipPa offers an efficient fulfillment platform that eliminates the need for a middleman wholesaler or warehouse. This allows for the shipping of fresher products with longer shelf life, QA continuity, and up to 20-30% savings for retail or hospitality customers as a result of shared cost on transport, inspection and documentation. Realtime ordering and delivery provides for reduced food waste, fresher products and a wider selection of seasonal products.
Social Impact:Silverado only works with sustainable farmers and processors companies that have achieved BAP, MSC, Organic and ASC certifications. PaShipPa’s supplier network in Northern California includes over 160 different specialty growers and processors, each following the highest sustainability standards and able to offer over a thousand products.
The PaShipPa platform ships daily from California though soon will be offering similar services from Australia, New Zealand and Taiwan.
